“ I love their Dungeness crab so so much! Meaty and flavorful captain’s boil sauce is my fave one. If you can dip the cajun fried rice in it, that will be the game changer ”
Kim Nawon“ Came here for the ayce mussels, shrimp and fries deal for $47/pp. Service was absolutely amazing despite how busy they were and all our food came out fresh every round we ordered. Highly recommend you take advantage of the deal if you love seafood! Make sure you reserve beforehand to avoid waiting. ”
Joanna Fahmy“ My all time favorite and a go-to seafood restaurant. When I was pregnant with my first born, I can eat here 3-4 tines a week! Love their cajun sauce in mild. It's a comfort food for me. ”
Mary Lecitona“ Great food. Not cheap but definitely delicious. They do not have utensils here. Be ready to use your hands exclusively. They do supply scissors and nut/ seafood cracker. They only had 1 crab fork for the entire restaurant. Maybe bring your own. Service was ok. They definitely put the effort in and were friendly however, there was 1 waitress for everyone. We waited a bit for things like drinks. Food was promptly served. Our waitress took time to explain the menu. Overall we enjoyed our meal we just had a hard time getting all the delicious meat out! ”
Theresa Pabst“ A couple weeks ago we had dinner here and while the seafood was undeniably delicious, my experience was tainted by something completely avoidable—Poor Management Priorities. Me and my family were not new to this restaurant and previously had uncomfortable experience using the transparent plastic gloves while eating, so I asked the waitress if I could have the blue gloves instead of the standard transparent ones, as they are much more comfortable and durable. She was kind enough to provide me with a pair, which I really appreciated. However, later on, I was made aware that the supervisor/manager reprimanded her, saying that she shouldn’t have given me the blue gloves because they were “more expensive.” That reasoning makes absolutely no sense. The restaurant charges premium prices for its seafood, so the cost of a pair blue gloves are negligible in comparison. More importantly, a restaurant’s focus (aside from the food) should be on customer experience and enjoyment, not cutting costs in ways that diminish comfort. Instead of ensuring I enjoyed my meal, the manager prioritized saving a few cents over guest satisfaction or maybe a power trip — something that no high-end restaurant should be doing. To be clear, the food itself was great, and the waitress was wonderful (as for the waitress, you did nothing wrong. You did better than your supervisor/manager). But management’s approach left a bad taste in my mouth and to the people that were with me that night. A restaurant that charges top dollar should understand that customer comfort is just as important as the food itself. Management needs to get their priorities right. ”
jude munalem“ We ordered through Uber eats and we ordered the pirates feast. Everything is a good portion except for paying $20 for king crab legs, extra than what you already charged for the whole boil… I would expect more than one leg and one claw. Definitely not worth charging an extra $20 to only end up with that. That is my opinion, maybe I’m out of touch. ”
Chris B“ Ive been to this location a few times now, service has always been good, foods usually pretty good, i got take out this time around and it was decent, i got snow crab, head on shrimp, and the clams, i was most excited for the clams but unfortunately i couldnt really eat them, there was so many broken shells and shell pieces, i almost chipped a tooth, so i had to throw them away. Other then that it was decent, not great but decent. ”
Amber Mccrea“ I recently visited Captain’s Boil in Richmond and had an amazing experience! We tried the Matey’s Palate, and it was absolutely worth it. The quantity was generous, and the quality of the seafood exceeded expectations. What really stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They guided us through the menu, which was especially appreciated—seafood menus can sometimes feel overwhelming, but they made everything easy to understand and enjoyable. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and service came together perfectly. If you’re looking for a great seafood spot where you’ll be well taken care of, I highly recommend giving Captain’s Boil a try! ”
